Optimize Cell Growth

Designed for R&D and cGMP scale-up, the HyPerforma™ Rocker allows the user to configure the rocking motion from a smooth waveform that minimizes shear force for sensitive cell lines to an aggressive motion that maximizes oxygen transfer for robust cells having high oxygen consumption. The transition from smooth to aggressive is controllable in 4 steps.

TruFluor Sensors

The HyPerforma Rock-IT BPC is a single-use rocker bag that's equipped with a pH+DO2 sensor comprising single-use sensors for dissolved oxygen, pH, and temperature. The pH+DO2 sensor leverages the technology behind TruFluor pH and DO in a compact assembly. The sensors are pre-calibrated and provide accurate, drift-free, in-situ measurements. The combined pH and DO optical reader uses advanced optical components including a large area photodiode that minimizes photo-degradation of the active pH and DO sensing elements. The pH+DO2 sensor also leverages the TruFluor temperature 316L stainless steel thermal window for highly stable readings.

pH+DO2 sensors are welded into single-use Rock-IT BPCs, eliminating the need for sterile connectors and their associated complications such as leakage and batch contamination. All wetted materials of the pH+DO2 sensor are USP class VI compliant and animal derived component free (ADCF). pH+DO2 sensors are identical to TruFluor pH and TruFluor DO sensors, allowing direct measurement comparisons and scale-up from 10 L rocker bags to 2,000 L stirred-tank, single-use bioreactors.

The TruFluor transmitters that are installed in the controller will automatically read the pH+DO2 sensor calibration and will allow one- and two-point calibrations as well as sensor health diagnostics and cable connectivity.

HyPerforma Rock-IT BPCs

A unique port-sensor assembly process allows the pH+DO2 sensor to be welded to the center at the bottom of the bag. The placement and design of the sensor enables all of the sensors to remain submerged in liquid even for small operating volumes. This results in a high degree of measurement fidelity for real-time process monitoring and control. HyPerforma Rockers can be used in cGMP settings instead of being confined to only cell amplification functions.

The HyPerforma Rock-IT BPC is available in three sizes: 10, 20, and 50 Liters. Each bag is delivered with all relevant certificates and conforms to USP Class VI standards. Rock-IT BPCs are available in a single, standard configuration for each volume. Please contact your sales representative if you require customizations for these bags.

Rock-IT BPCs are manufactured using multi-layer polyolefin-based, slip agent free film. This film provides superior extractables and leachables profiles, water vapor and oxygen barriers, and complete fluid integrity.

Rock-IT BPCs are sterilized using gamma radiation (25 to 40 kGy). Individual radiation indicators are affixed to each bag. Lot radiation information can be provided upon request. Each lot is tested for bacterial endotoxins. Lot release requires endotoxin levels below 0.125 EU/ml.

HyPerforma Rocker Trays

The tray that holds the Rock-IT BPC is designed so that the embedded pH+DO2 sensor's reader is mounted underneath the bag and will not disturb or encumber the rocking motion.

Easy clip tray latches securely hold the BPC inside the tray, even when it is full and the rocker is set to the most aggressive motion setting.

The locking mechanism on the sensor's reader provides a repeatable and tight coupling between the reader and the pH+DO2 sensor.

These features are designed to support a quick set-up and to establish consistent contact between the bag and the tray for uniform heating and improved process temperature control.
